Foreign Vehicle Temporary Resident Permit Information

Foreign Vehicle permits for residents are valid for a period of six months and are issued to vehicles on a temporary basis to vehicles that have recently been brought into Great Britain. Six months is the nationally recognised time limit that a foreign vehicle can remain without being registered in Great Britain.

You will need to supply:

• 2 proofs of residency dated within the last 3 months in your application.

This is a virtual permit which means that there is no need to display anything in your vehicle. Civil Enforcement Officers will be able to identify which vehicles have a valid permit from the vehicle registration number. Car free development residents are not able to apply for residents parking permits.

Photographs of documentation will be accepted if you do not have access to a scanner.

Foreign vehicle permits are single vehicle specific and not transferable between vehicles
